W.I.T.C. had its beginning as the
West Indies Bible Institute in September, 1950; in response to a long-felt need for a
Programme of Training for Leaders in the Church of God in the Southern Caribbean.
Over the years, with the growing needs of People (globally), the College has expanded its progammes to include Degrees in Social Work and Psychology/Counselling.

The College is committed to being an instrument of education and training through which the Church of God contributes to the guidance and preparation of Christian Leaders and other personnel to serve the Church and the Community in the Caribbean and beyond.
...impart to the students in their course of study, the techniques of learning for the stimulation
of clear thinking to form and adopt wholesome attitudes of life.
...deepen the students’ awareness and proper appreciation of people, so that, in any field of service, they may be able to enter into dialogue and relate to others effectively as they seek to share in the vital task of the propagation of the Gospel.
...provide wholesome experience through engagement in forms of practical activity, both to enable the students to earn their way, if necessary, in a respectable manner, and to demonstrate and emphasize the worth and dignity of honest labour.
...provide meaningful and adequate training in Christian Leadership, primarily for Caribbean Youth in the Church of God which supports and controls the College.
